Fox Sports Arizona’s Todd Walsh accused of racist comments after car accident
A woman in Arizona is claiming Fox Sports Arizona broadcaster Todd Walsh swore at her and attacked her gender and race after she clipped his car’s mirror Wednesday. Here’s the key part of what Krys Poleon wrote in a public Facebook post about the incident (language warning): My passenger side mirror barely clipped another guy’s mirror. I parked right behind him and got out to ask if i damaged his window. He first looked at me for a few minutes, then got out of his car. He asked me what I needed bc he was on the phone. I explained I was sorry and that I was parallel parking and that I clipped his mirror. He goes to his mirror and continues: Wtf did you do? Maybe you shouldn’t be driving? People like you are ridiculous. I just got into an accident with someone like you who drove off, so I’m calling the cops. (Someone like me? Yeah you know what he meant…) Me: fair enough, I will get my insurance info. He then precedes to block me from getting to my truck and begins to chest bump me and tell m
Diamondbacks Non-Tender Welington Castillo, Rubby De La Rosa
The Diamondbacks decided not to tender arbitration contracts to catcher Welington Castillo and righty Rubby De La Rosa, per a team announcement. The decision on Castillo, in particular, rates as a surprise; both will be available to the highest bidder on the open market. Castillo had been projected by MLBTR and contributor Matt Swartz to earn a fairly hefty $5.9MM in his final season of control. De La Rosa, whose elbow health is in question, was projected at a $3.0MM tab.
Taijuan Walker dealt with 10 bone spurs in his right foot last year
Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Taijuan Walker had a painful 2016 campaign in more ways than one. According to Steve Gilbert of, Walker said that he had 10 bone spurs in his right foot last season that affected the use of his lower body. Walker also added that the biggest bone spur was 3/4 of an inch. #Dbacks Taijuan Walker said he had 10 bone spurs in his foot last year that impacted his ability to push off and use lower body. — Steve Gilbert (@SteveGilbertMLB) December 1, 2016 The 24-year-old Walker was all over the place in 2016 as a Seattle Mariner, going 8-11 with a 4.22 ERA and 119 strikeouts in 25 starts. He was demoted to the minor leagues in August and was ultimately traded to the Diamondbacks last month along with shortstop Ketel Marte for a package centered around infielder Jean Segura. A quantum leap probably shouldn’t be expected of Walker in 2017 with the move to a highly hitter-friendly ballpark in Chase Field. But hopefully a better bill of health can help the highly tale
Arizona Diamondbacks’ new direction already evident, with front office making big trade
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, we saw what might be our first legitimately significant trade in Major League Baseball’s offseason, and the first of Mike Hazen’s tenure as general manager. The Arizona Diamondbacks sent Jean Segura, Mitch Haniger and Zac Curtis to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for Taijuan Walker and Ketel Marte. Obviously, Segura and Walker represent the two centerpieces of the deal, but it could have ramifications beyond that for both teams. What we’re worried about here, however, is how it could affect the Diamondbacks and shape their club into the future. In short, what it means is likely good news for Arizona fans. Walker is a nice get for a Diamondbacks club that has been trying to build up its pitching staff over the past few seasons, but to no avail. He’s a young starter with four years of control left. There’s still some development to take place, with a decrease in walks and increase in swings and misses necessary, but the stuff is extremely apparent in lending itself to

Excited Walker looking forward to pain-free 2017
It was the night before Thanksgiving and Taijuan Walker was hanging out with friends and family when his agent called to tell him he had just been traded from the Mariners to the D-backs as part of a five-player deal.
Get to Know Ketel Marte
The D-backs’ early blockbuster trade has mostly been panned as the Jean Segura for Taijuan Walker deal. You can see why — those players are likely to have the biggest impact on the long-term evaluation of the deal. They’re the most talented players in the swap, but this narrative clearly leaves the peripheral pieces on, well, the periphery. The Mariners …
