Brock Lesnar, Chris Jericho get into fight after SummerSlam

One of the strangest stories took place outside of the ring at WWE SummerSlam 2016. According to reports there was a heated confrontation between Brock Lesnar and Chris Jericho in which Jericho challenged Lesnar to hit him or kiss him before broken up by Triple H and Vince McMahon. This is one weird story. Dave Meltzer broke the story wide open on Monday of a reported confrontation between Brock Lesnar and Chris Jericho. According to Meltzer’s story, Jericho was upset over what he perceived to be Lesnar taking liberties with Randy Orton. Lesnar overheard Jericho’s comments shortly after walking back from the ring and all hell broke loose…baby! According to Meltzer, Lesnar overheard Jericho telling Michael Hayes “that’s bullsh*t”, thinking that Lesnar was taking liberties with Orton. Lesnar overheard that comment and it went down from there. “Lesnar thought he was talking about his match, and called Jericho a pu#sy according to one version, or “shut up” according to another, and t...

WWE confirms new Universal Champion Finn Balor was injured at SummerSlam

At SummerSlam in Brooklyn on Sunday, former NXT champion and recent addition to Raw Finn Balor won the newly created Universal Championship in an epic match against Seth Rollins. Now, Balor's title reign could be in jeopardy, thanks to a shoulder injury suffered at the hands of Rollins during their match.Via WWE.com:Inaugural WWE Universal Champion Finn Bálor suffered an injury to his right shoulder against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam, WWE.com can confirm. The injury was a result of a running powerbomb Rollins delivered to Balor on the apron outside of the ring:But as they say, the show must go on. According to WWE's ringside doctor, Balor was able to pop his shoulder back into place after an initial dislocation:“He hit the wall during the match, dislocated his shoulder and was able to put it back in himself in a split second,â€* said ringside physician Dr. Chris Robinson. What we learned from this year's baffling SummerSlam event

The early signs last night were good. The lights came up, and Enzo Amore and Big Cass delivered an over-the-top address to the capacity crowd at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, chock-full of New York references and stereotypes. Big Cass even sang some Sinatra (and he wasn't even that bad!). That preceded a genuinely entertaining match between the two of them and the tag team of Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens that saw Enzo Amore used as a human missile, thrown into his opponents by Big Cass. It was an acrobatic, fast and exciting match that ultimately ended with Jericho landing a codebreaker and getting the pin on Amore. The first half of the card proceeded in similar fashion. A dynamic, brutal match saw Charlotte besting Sasha Banks to retake the Women's Championship, a tag team match between The New Day and The Club in which Jon Stewart joined The New Day and Big E returned, an amazing match between John Cena and AJ Styles, and a crazy-acrobatic three-on-three women's match featuring the return of Nikki Bella a

Finn Balor captures first WWE Universal championship

NXT has provided WWE with an immediate future. That turned into the present on Sunday at SummerSlam when Finn Balor defeated Seth Rollins at Barclays Center in Brooklyn to capture the first WWE Universal championship. The victory, which is the top title on the RAW brand, concluded a stellar weekend for the NXT talent troupe. On Saturday at Barclays Center, Shinsuke Nakamura thrilled the crowd by capturing the NXT championship. While Nakamura isn't on the main roster as of yet, Balor is and has made an enormous impression in a short time. Consider Balor has been on the RAW roster for around a month. The WWE put out a list last year chronicling the fastest rise to top championship in company history.Balor shattered all those marks by toppling Rollins in a match that definitely felt like the showstopper on the SummerSlam card.Rollins, meanwhile, seems to be having trouble digesting the result.

SummerSlam 2016: Brock dominates, Balor wins big

WWE finished off its summer and kicked off the first full-fledged new era network event with SummerSlam 2016. A solid lineup on paper delivered the SummerSlam many had hoped for albeit the predictable winners. All of the main-events and featured bouts delivered, making this one of the best SummerSlam events top to bottom in years but it was the end of the night that the WWE wants you talking about. Poor Randy Orton was sacrificed at SummerSlam. Brock Lesnar dominated the first half of the match. He hit seven suplexes on Orton. He had Orton on the announcer’s table when Orton hit an RKO out of nowhere for his first offense of the match. He subsequently hit a DDT on Lesnar when Brock got back in the ring. The advantage didn’t last long. Brock wound up taking his gloves off and pounding Orton. Lesnar opened up a huge cut on Orton with elbows. Orton bled badly as the doctors came in to check on him. Lesnar pushed the doctor off of Orton and went back to pounding on Orton a couple of ti...

WWE SummerSlam: Dean Ambrose Beats Dolph Ziggler, Retains World Championship

Dean Ambrose entered Brooklyn as the WWE World Champion, and he’ll leave the Barclays Center with that belt still around his waist. The Lunatic Fringe had an athletic match with Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam on Sunday night. Ziggler put up a fight, but couldn’t do enough to walk away three-time champion. Things were heated before the first bell even rang. Tensions are already EXTREMELY high heading into this one… #SummerSlam @TheDeanAmbrose @HEELZiggler pic.twitter.com/r4radAuZLm — WWE Universe (@WWEUniverse) August 22, 2016 Then those tensions were taken out on each other, much to our enjoyment. A push for Heath Slater is a push for America

On the August 15 edition of Monday Night Raw, human volcano Brock Lesnar and his advocate, the inimitably slick Paul Heyman, came out to the ring. They don’t do this every week, what with Lesnar being a part-time performer and all, but it’s a common enough scene. These segments tend to follow a similar trajectory.  Brock’s music hits and the crowd comes alive. Brock emerges through the curtain and the fireworks, inspiring a bunch of of look-at-that-mother-effing oohs and ahhs. Heyman struts along behind his client, wearing an expression like Bob Baffert might while watching American Pharaoh. Brock leaps up onto the ring apron, setting off more pyro. He stalks the ring a bit before yielding the floor to Heyman. Heyman then delivers a monologue describing the destruction that Lesnar will wreak upon whoever his next opponent happens to be. This coming Sunday at SummerSlam, that opponent will be Randy Orton. For the past two years—since 2014’s SummerSlam, when he walloped John Cena with over a dozen

SummerSlam 2016: WWE has a lot of questions to answer

This year, perhaps more than most, the WWE is pushing SummerSlam hard. And while Wrestlemania is still the league's premier pay-per-view event, it seems like SummerSlam will actually be more informative for viewers looking to get a sense of the league's future. There are plenty of questions that need answering after the brand split between SmackDown and RAW, and even more were brought up when the WWE released the card. Will Brock Lesnar's Failed Drug Test Affect His Standing In The WWE? The night of UFC 200, Brock Lesnar failed his second drug test, prompting discussion among fans of mixed martial arts as to the legitimacy of the man's accomplishments. Now, the UFC chose not to fine Lesnar, but the WWE can be more capricious with the 'punishments' it assigns. Though this match is not for any specific championship, it should be very telling for the futures of both of these wrestlers. Since Lesnar is set to face Randy Orton in a match he is heavily favored to win, an upset victory for the Viper could be a sig
