Vince McMahon undergoes mystery surgery for undisclosed injury
In the most vague release of all time, the WWE announced Monday that chairman Vince McMahon has undergone surgery after suffering an injury recently. BREAKING: @WWE Chairman @VinceMcMahon sustained an injury while training, requiring surgery:https://t.co/2JP7IIDJYq pic.twitter.com/5pGBIs8EqZ — WWE (@WWE) September 12, 2016 So far, we don’t know what kind of injury it was and what kind of surgery McMahon underwent. All we know is that McMahon suffered some sort of injury and underwent some sort of procedure. Here’s the ridiculous release for those interested: WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon sustained an injury while training, requiring surgery, WWE.com has learned. The Chairman will be back in the office at WWE Headquarters on Wednesday, as usual. Now if this was any of the major sports, we would all be complaining about how vague teams are when it comes to injuries. This is the WWE, however. It’s the only entity that can make big news out of its CEO getting hurt. And it’s like

The purest protagonist on TV? It's Bayley
There exists an ideal in America: If you work hard, try your best, and never give up, then eventually you make it. I suppose this notion exists in all countries—surely this isn’t the only nation capable of transforming work into success—but it has long been tied tightly to American mythology. This isn’t always a good thing, however. Surely there are people you know, bad people, perhaps people you’ve worked alongside or shared a classroom with, whom you are not happy to see achieve.  Odds are you aren’t thrilled at how close Donald Trump and/or Hillary Clinton have come to winning the presidency. Perhaps your relationship with pro football is complicated by Roger Goodell’s draconian punishments and the NFL’s profit uber alles philosophy. Maybe you eat your KFC extra crispy chicken with a grimace because you have beef with Colonel Sanders. If a random person works hard and keeps trying and achieves success, it sounds like a good thing, but it isn’t necessarily a good thing, you know? But le
CM Punk gets straight up destroyed in UFC 203 debut
It finally happened. CM Punk finally had his first UFC fight at UFC 203 against Mickey Gall. The fight went about the way all of Punk’s naysayers and MMA critics thought it would…which was an absolute massacre. Mickey Gall slaughtered CM Punk throughout the first round for a submission victory. Punk charged Gall to open up but was immediately taken down and just obliterated from there. Gall dominated Punk and brought down numerous elbows and strikes. Punk did absolutely nothing but fight for survival. Gall finally tapped out Punk after a merciless 2:14 with a rear naked choke. Quite honestly this was a travesty on a lot of levels. Punk should have never been in this fight and that isn’t a personal shot at the guy. The guy has never fought in any combat sport and was technically a white belt rolling around with a brown belt. The UFC really got away with one here because they sold their fans a bill of goods that never had a chance of delivering. A few other notes on the fight…Punk ...
Mick Foley sends heartfelt message to CM Punk before UFC debut
Former WWF champion Mick Foley has shown time and time again that he not like every other professional wrestler, and he reiterated that this week when he sent a heartfelt message to former WWE superstar CM Punk before his UFC debut this Saturday. Most WWE superstars have remained quiet about Punk’s upcoming debut, which is understandable considering the way the wrestler-turned-fighter left the promotion and his current relationship with WWE head honcho Vince McMahon. But Foley, who had his fair share of run-in with Punk during their time in the WWE, put politics aside to wish his friend good luck before he takes the giant leap into the world of mixed martial arts.“Hey, Punk, it’s your old friend Mick Foley. Just wanted to tell you that I’m rooting for you, a lot of people are rooting for you. A lot of people are rooting against you but I know you’re the type of guy that really enjoys proving people wrong. I know nothing is certain in life or in UFC, but if theres one thing I would be ...
This is 45: Chris Jericho has never been better
On the Aug. 29 edition of Monday Night Raw, Kevin Owens won the recently created WWE Universal Title. He was the surprise winner of a fatal four-way elimination match by way of a surprise ending, as real-life WWE COO Triple H appeared out of nowhere to attack longtime foe Roman Reigns and betray former pupil Seth Rollins — all while wearing a suit, no less.  The surprise on Owens’ face presumably mirrored that of fans across America. Rollins and Reigns are the more established names, and even Big Cass, the fourth competitor, seemed to have a snowball’s chance at winning. The match, especially the ending, added a tasty air of unpredictability to the pro wrestling world. The feeling that anything can happen is a powerful tool when used correctly. Owens became the most recent on-screen beneficiary. The Internet was abuzz with delight after the match. Fans praised “Based Haitch” (a sort of meta-alter-ego for Triple H’s behind-the-scenes persona) for delivering the championship to Owens, a longtime
