Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter is a singer, songwriter and actress from Houston, TX. She is the daughter of, Mathew Knowles, who also became the singer’s daughter. After performing on Star Search, the winning group went through several line up and name changes, eventually settling on Knowles and Destiny’s Child. The group was made up of her cousin Kelly Rowland, LeToya Luckett, and LaTavia Roberson. From 1998 to 2005, the group went on to release four albums (Destiny’s Child, The Writings on the Wall, Survivor) and became one of the world's best-selling girl groups of all time.
In 2000, the group broke-up and we saw the release of Beyoncé's debut album, Dangerously in Love (2003). The album earned five Grammy Awards and featured the Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles "Crazy in Love" and "Baby Boy".
In 2004, she briefly reunited with her fellow Destiny's Child members to record the group's final album, Destiny Fulfilled, which peaked at number two and has sold over six million copies worldwide.
in 2006, she released her second solo album, B'Day (2006), which contained hits "Déjà Vu", "Irreplaceable", and "Beautiful Liar". She started touring worldwide and tickets for Beyonce sold-out concerts became harder and harder to obtain.
Beyonce has expanded her career to other avenues. One of these is acting, and she has appeared in ten films, with leading roles in five of them. The roles include Carmen in “Carmen: A Hop Hopera”, Foxxy Cleopatra in Austin Powers in “Goldmember”, Lilly in “The Fighting Temptations”, Deena Jones in “Dreamgirls”, and Sharon Charles in “Obsessed”.
Inn 2010, Beyonce earned a record-setting six Grammy Awards for her album I Am... Sasha Fierce (2008), which was inspired by her husband Jay-Z, and included the Song of the Year for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)".
In 2010 she fired her father and manager, Mathew Knowles, and took over her own career. Throughout her career so far, she has sold over 100 million records as a solo artist, and a further 60 million with Destiny's Child, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time. She has won 20 Grammy Awards and is the most nominated woman in the award's history. With tickets selling out as soon as they go on sale for Beyonce, secure yours today at CapitalCityTickets.com.
