About Barenaked Ladies
The Barenaked Ladies got their start as a duo, Ed Robertson and Steven Page, in 1998 in Scarborough, Ontario. The duo evolved and the group now consist of Jim Creeggan, Kevin Hearn, Ed Robertson, and Tyler Stewart. Their first album, a self-entitled independently released album, catapulted the band to fame as it went on to be certified gold in Canada. Barenaked Ladies began as an acoustic duo however quickly elevated into using genres of pop, rock, hip-hop, and rap. They are considered a “alt rock” nowadays. Around Canada the singles "If I Had $1000000" and "Brian Wilson" allowed the band to sell out venues wherever they went, however, their 1996 album Rock Spectacle with live singles of "The Old Apartment" and "Brian Wilson" brought the group major success in the United States. They have been nominated for multiple Grammys and even recorded the popular sitcom song for “The Big Bang Theory”.
