About Ricky Martin
At age 13, Ricky Martin joined the famous Puerto Rican boy band Muendo, a group whose members typically were replaced once they turned 18. Martin was with Meanudo until he was 17 years old and they produced albums like Sons of Rock, Cant’ Get Enough, In Action. In 1990, Menudo Despidida Ricky Martin was released which was Martin’s first solo album. He spent much of the 90’s touring Latin American and recording new albums. However, Ricky Martin was introduced to North America not as a singer but as an actor. He acted in shows like “Getting By” and “General Hospital”. After around two years of acting, Martin returned to the recording studio. He reached Latin American and Europe success and even produced a single for the Wolrd Cup. It was that World Cup that gave Martin his exposure to America music fans. In 1999 his second self-titled album was recorded in English and the record's most popular song, and Martin's most popular to this day, was "Livin' La Vida Loca.
