Martina McBride, from Sharon, KS, is a country music singer and songwriter. She is known for her soprano singing range and her country pop material. A comparison has been made to Shania Twain and Faith Hill because of her pop inspired country sound. She has been called the "Celine Dion of Country Music".
Inn 1991, McBride signed to RCA Records and released her single, "The Time Has Come" which brought her national fame.
McBride has recorded a total of 13 studio albums and eight of her studio albums and two of her compilations have received an RIAA Gold certification, or higher. She has sold over 14 million albums. McBride has won the Country Music Association's "Female Vocalist of the Year" award four times and the Academy of Country Music's "Top Female Vocalist" award three times.
