Ryan set many records over his career including\nthe record for most no-hitters thrown (only the third pitcher to throw\nno-hitters in both leagues) and broke the all-time strikeout record. The\nHouston Astros had his #34 retired in 1996.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2000, the Astros saw the end of\nan era with the Astrodome. The team moved into the brand-new Minute Maid Park.\nThe park features a retractable roof and when closed the facility can be air\nconditioned. The stadium seats around 42,000 Astros fans on game day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Houston Astros two most\nrecognizable names, one was known as the greatest Houston Astros player of all\ntime, played for the team in the 90\u2019s. Craig Biggio and Jeff Bagwell were their\nnames and they were known as the \u201cKiller B\u2019s\u201d. Bagwell won the MVP in 1994 and\nfinished his career as the Houston Astros career leader in home runs, RBIs,\nwalks, sacrifice flies and intentional walks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Astros play in the American\nLeague West with the Los Angeles Angels, Oakland Athletics, Seattle Mariners\nand Texas Rangers. They have won one National League pennant in 2005. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
